"OPPO Reno A", which is very popular among OPPO, is a smartphone equipped with FeliCa and NFC.
NFC is required to read the My Number card issued by the Japanese government with a mobile phone terminal, but there is an event that Reno A, which should be equipped with NFC, cannot read it.
Inquiries were made to OPPO one after another, and finally the manufacturer told us that there was no plan to respond.
OPPO Reno A "Mine bar correspondence is" impossible ""
On December 24th, OPPO Japan released a method for reading an Individual Number Card (My Number Card) with an OPPO brand smartphone.
In response to the announcement, OPPO Reno A users have received multiple inquiries about reading with Reno A, but it is clearly stated that it is impossible to respond on the spot. It has been decided that OPPO Reno A cannot handle it.
The reason is "hardware".
Regarding the reason why OPPO Reno A can not read my number card, OPPO Japan replied on official Twitter that "hardware does not support", but why is it Reno A equipped with NFC? Isn't it supported?

First of all, even the same NFC is classified into multiple types, and there are three types, NFC type A / B / F. F corresponds to FeliCa (Osaifu-Keitai), of which NFC type "B" is used for reading on my number card. It is also listed on the Digital Agency's web page as a requirement that is required and must be met.
In other words, although OPPO has not officially stated any further, it seems that OPPO Reno A does not support at least B type.
I can't expect updates
For smartphones, it is not uncommon to add or support new functions, not just OPPO, through software updates.
However, as OPPO Japan also mentions, what Reno A cannot handle this time is not due to a software problem, but a hardware problem. Probably because the NFC chip corresponding to the above-mentioned NFC type B is not installed.
In other words, it becomes a physical problem of the terminal itself, and OPPO Japan cannot respond to follow-up, but there is no way to do this.
In addition, this means that there is virtually no option other than replacing it with a model that supports reading of My Number card.
The successor models of OPPO Reno A, "OPPO Reno 3 A" and "OPPO Reno 5 A," both support reading of My Number cards.
