How to apply online for "100,000 yen benefit". Watch out for password traps

By mobilephones 26/11/2022 601 Views

As an economic support measure against the new corona wreck, an online application for a special fixed benefit that pays 100,000 yen per person to the householder has started from May 1st. Some municipalities have not started accepting applications yet, but in the area where I live, they started accepting applications a little later, so I applied online.

By the way, only the head of the household can apply for this benefit. If you are not sure whether you are the head of the household, the application documents will be sent to the head of the household in the near future, so you can wait for that before applying.

Requirements for Online Application

Online application can be done with "PC connected to IC card reader" or "Smartphone (including iPhone) that can read my number card". The following items are required for application.

To apply from your smartphone, first install the dedicated app "Minor Portal AP". Please check the compatible models on the Mynaportal site. For iPhone, iPhone 7 or later with iOS 13.1 or higher, and many Android models sold by carriers are compatible. This time, I used the docomo version of Galaxy S20 5G.

Actual application procedure

First, start the "Minor Portal AP" app. If you select "Perfect service" from there, the Mynaportal site will open in your browser.

▲ First, open the “Mynaportal AP” app. Then, enter the area where you live (postal code or municipality name) and check the special fixed benefit in the following menu. Then tap "Search with this condition". At this time, if the municipality where you live has started online application, a check box will be displayed and an application button will be displayed. If you have not yet done so, the message “Preparing” will be displayed.

▲You can apply if the municipality has started accepting online applications. On the next screen, the browser compatibility status and whether you have all the necessary items will be checked. In particular, it is important to remember the PIN (6 to 16 alphanumeric characters) of the digital signature certificate. If you enter the wrong number five times, it will be locked, and you will need to go to the municipal office to unlock it.

▲Check if you have all the necessary items If there is no problem, proceed to the next step and enter the applicant's information. Here, you can read it from your My Number card or enter it manually. Even if you read it from the My Number Card, it will only fill in your name, date of birth, and address, so you don't have to worry about entering it manually.

▲Enter applicant information Next, enter the names of recipients one by one. Since I'm going to use my number, I think it would be nice if it could be read from the basic resident registry information, but it can't be helped if it doesn't support it.

▲Enter the name of the recipient manually. After entering the recipient's name, enter the transfer account information. Here, you will upload the image of the cash card etc., but you can also shoot using the smartphone camera on the spot.

▲Enter your account information. A photo of a cash card or a screenshot from online banking is also acceptable.

Encountered here "password trap"

Next, you'll need to add an electronic signature to the image you're uploading, where you'll need to scan your My Number card. There is a password entry here, but the password for the signature digital certificate (6 to 16 alphanumeric characters) is used. It is not the password (4-digit number) for user authentication of My Number. Looking at SNS etc., it seems that there are many people who make a mistake in this password and lock it.

▲Here, hold your "My Number Card" over your smartphone, and enter your signature electronic certificate as your password. Even if you entered it in lower case when you registered, it will be converted to upper case.

▲From the website of the Public Personal Authentication Service, the password will be sent in all capital letters at the end, and the application will be completed.

As long as you pay attention to the password trap, it will be completed smoothly.

Actually, an error occurred when uploading the image, and I had to start over from the beginning. It took about 30 minutes to respond while taking screenshots for writing articles the first time, but the second time it took less than 5 minutes to complete the application. Other than the password trap, it's very easy to understand, and I think it's a work that can be completed in about 10 minutes even if you enter while checking the text.

I don't know when it will be transferred, but I'd like to expect it to be transferred by the end of summer.
