Apple removes anti-vaccine dating app "Unjected".To spread false information

Apple has removed the anti-vaccine dating app "Unjected" from the App Store for violating the new Corona and false alarm guidelines. The app claims to be a place for "similar people who support medical autonomy and free speech," and at the time of writing the Android version is still available on Google Play.

The Unjected app went live in May, according to Bloomberg reports. It is explained that the user was able to create a profile, match with others, exchange messages, and so on.

This app is basically a dating service for anti-vaccines, and its release coincides with the time when matching apps such as Tinderl and Bumble added the privilege of recommending new corona vaccination to users. Therefore, it was called "Tinder for anti-vaccineists".

In addition, Unjected recently added social feeds like Facebook and Twitter, which (in the Android version) triggered a review by Google Play, which turned out to be insufficiently cracking down on content containing false alarms posted by users. That is. In an email to Unjected, Google flagged posts such as claims that vaccines are "experimental mRNA gene modifiers" and "biological weapons," and "nanotechnology microchips" that connect people to 5G networks. It is reported that (it was judged to be a violation of the rules).

And on July 16th, Google decided to give Unjected two weeks to choose whether to remove those posts or remove the app from the store. In response, Unjected co-founder Shelby Thomson said, "We had to walk a tightrope walk," but eventually removed the social feed.

However, Thomson said he plans to revive the social feed with the flagged post and "wants to prevent radar detection," and is unlikely to give up anti-vaccine activity.

On the other hand, the iOS version of the Unjected app has been distributed on the App Store until recently, and when Bloomberg asked Apple for comment on this matter, it was deleted. Apple told the developers of Unjected that the reason for the removal was "it is inappropriate to mention the spread of COVID-19 infection in the concept or theme."

An Apple spokeswoman said the initial review process rejected Unjected and approved the app after making changes to comply with the policies of the new Corona-related app. However, since then, "The developer has spoken to the user externally and updated the app, but as a result, it is out of compliance again."

Apple spokeswoman added that Unjected advised users not to use specific words to avoid detection. This is a violation of the App Store Review guidelines, "If you try to cheat on your system ... the developer's app will be removed from the App Store." Apple's answers are also confirmed by Engadget.

People who oppose the vaccination of the new corona have become a social problem, with demonstrations all over the world. Everyone is free to think and have any idea, but I want to act based on the correct knowledge and try not to disseminate false information.
