Tweet from twitter@iPhoneMania_jp November 9, 2021 09:34 Until read about 1 minute 54 Google's Pixel 6 series has a problem with the speed of second fingerprint authentication, but it seems that there are other more serious problems. A case was reported where authentication was successful even with a fingerprint that was not registered.

Pixel 6 authenticated with wife's fingerprint

This was reported by Reddit user Pkobes. According to it, my wife was able to unlock the Pixel 6 with fingerprint authentication, even though she only registered her own fingerprint. This didn't just happen once, it happened many times, and Pkobes uploaded a video as proof.

There was an opinion that it may have happened because the fingerprint was registered with dirt or something attached to the underside of the screen protective film, but the same is true even without the screen protective film. There are other reports that things have happened. According to Scientific American, the odds of two people having the same fingerprint are 1 in 64 trillion.

"Enhanced security algorithms" are unreliable?

Google says that the fingerprint authentication function of the Pixel 6 series takes time to authenticate because it has an "enhanced security algorithm". However, if authentication is really successful with someone else's fingerprint, it would be a big problem. Other issues reported for the Pixel 6 series include display flickering, maximum power when charging, and making phone calls without permission.
