Affects all Google Drive users!
Google has announced "Drive for desktop for PC". It will be available on Windows / Mac in the coming weeks. The new app will replace the traditional "Drive File Stream" for enterprise users with the "Backup and Sync" feature for individual users.
According to a post on Google's official blog, this PC version of Google Drive is "designed as an integrated client that allows you to share and sync files quickly and easily on all devices and the cloud."
By updating to "Google Drive for PC", individual users can automatically synchronize files in the local or external storage of the computer to Google Drive, and can use files in the shared drive. , It is said that all the excellent functions of the file management solution so far will be incorporated, such as being able to back up photos and videos directly to Google Photos.
The differences between "Backup and Sync" and "Google Drive for PC" are as follows.
Google recommends that "backup and sync" users be notified "within a few weeks" to move to a new version of Google Drive for PC, and that they will make a full migration by the end of September. By the end of the year, we plan to integrate the sync client and make backup and sync features available on Google Drive for PC.
